It has been three days since Swyatt joined our family and so far so good.

He is a very very sweet boy. He likes to cuddle and in true lab fashion believes he is a lapdog and should be allowed to sit on you.

We are all quite smitten with him.

Except Sophie, she isn't thrilled at her new brother.

I think with time she will warm up to him but for now she prefers to keep her distance and grumble. She did kind of extend a play invite last night but then got annoyed when he accepted. My little diva! We are giving her a lot of one on one time (he goes to bed in his crate at least an hour before the household). And bed/couch privileges are still solely hers. 

He is also very energetic (but who can blame him, being in boarding for 3 months would make anyone antsy). Multiple walks a day are the new norm and he is also attending daycare.

I can't say enough great things about our daycare. Mr. Swyatt has very limited doggy social skills. He gets in dogs' faces and charges at them while zooming and doesn't get corrections. Thankfully he has given Sophie a fairly wide berth and hasn't tried to hump her. We also intervene if he gets to worked up and help him settle. Our daycare has been amazing with helping him develop social skills. Yesterday they told me they saw significant improvement (I nearly cried in relief because this little powder keg of energy needs the exercise!)

First time in 72 hours that he laid down on his own and settled. WOHOOO!!!

He is definitely a smart cookie and we are working on teaching him commands since he is a complete blank slate. He is picking up pretty quickly on clicker training which is awesome!

Overall its been a bit of tiring 72 hrs (its like having a newborn home) but we are all so happy with our new addition.
